Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.
Life can throw some hard and heavy experiences at us. Healing from trauma can leave you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed or alone. I’m here to provide individualized, trauma-focused therapy to help you move forward with resilience.
Whether you’re struggling with past trauma, anxiety, relationship difficulties, or emotional patterns that feel stuck, therapy offers a supportive space to heal.
Hi, I’m Cara.
I’m an LCSW with eighteen years of experience providing support to survivors of trauma. I started my career working with youth experiencing homelessness and aging out of foster care. I’ve been an advocate for families navigating the investigative and judicial processes in child abuse cases. For the past ten years, I’ve been a trauma therapist working with children, adults and families who have survived sexual abuse, domestic violence and childhood trauma.
At the heart of my work is the belief that the hardest things that happen to us don’t make us who we are.
I believe we are more than the things we survive and we get to decide what makes us who we are and how we live.

EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) is an evidence-based model that helps the brain reprocess difficult experiences. With guidance, you briefly focus on a memory while following gentle side-to-side eye movements or other bilateral stimulation. Over time, this can help memories feel less distressing and more manageable.
-
TF-CBT
TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) helps teens work through difficult experiences at a pace that feels safe and supportive. Teens will learn coping skills, make sense of what happened, and gradually tell their story in a way that feels manageable and empowering.
